Darley Abbey Panto (PantoSchokk productions)  www.darleyabbeypanto.co.uk

PantoSchokk Productions was born in summer 2010 as a good excuse for a get together with friends.  As a team of friends and residents of Darley Abbey, we have resurrected the tradition of an annual family pantomime in the community. In doing so, we also help to support creative and performing arts opportunities and create something for our families and community to be proud of.

Some of us like to act, some dance, some write, some sing, some build and create sound and light and some just make sure it all happens at the right time in the right place; it does just seems to work.

Marlowe Players www.marlowe-players.co.uk

The Marlowe Players amateur drama group was founded on 15th January 1948, when a small group of people met round a fireside in Chaddesden to discuss the formation of an independent drama society. They wanted the freedom of ideas and choice of plays which independence allows and which is not always possible for an ‘attached’ society. The first play, presented at the Railway Institute, in September 1948, was “Robert’s Wife” by St. John Ervine. Rehearsals took place at St. Michael’s Church House. Since then there have been over 140 major productions.

Yoga is a practice suitable for everyone…no matter what your experience or knowledge or physical health. So many people worry that they ‘cannot do yoga as I am so inflexible’. My response is always ‘if you are breathing you can do yoga – in fact you already are doing yoga’!

By practising the asanas (postures) you become more flexible, but yoga is so much more than just the asanas; it helps you breathe properly; meditation helps us find that inner peace; learning to relax properly helps the whole nervous system and reduces stress.

Please give yoga a try. It really can make a difference to how you feel and how you cope with the stresses and strains of our modern way of living.

I teach in a way that encourages you to really feel and unite with your body.  It is not a fitness class, but you will know you have worked on all your levels.
